Pammell tour on Pine Lake Park plans discussed

Dr L H Pammell president of the State Board of Conservation led a meeting in Eldora to discuss park improvements at Pine Lake including a bath house shelter and trails. Architects Kimball Diggs and local officials spoke on preserving native flora and wildlife areas around Pine Lake and Fallen Rock.

County Declamatory Contest Sparks Local Talent

Sweetholr Town Play By Local American Legion Unit

Miss Irene Robertson of Rock Island joins the local cast for a three act musical comedy titled Sweetholr Town to be staged Friday and Saturday April 3 and 4 at the high school auditorium. The community is urged to save the dates for this first class entertainment and a Motor Runs to Des Moines bus will depart Friday morning from Sth and Mulberry street station in Des Moines.

An Interesting Market Letter March 28 1026

The cattle market faded early week with light receipts and a steer decline of 25 to 30 cents. Hog prices rose 20 to 40 cents, with top hogs at around 14.15. Sheep and lambs fell sharply, lambs down 1 to 1.60. Today 16,000 cattle offered, market 15 to 26 cents higher. best yearlings scarce, top near 21.90, hogs stronger, light hogs strongest, receipts 62,000. sheep 13,000 with fat lambs up to 16.76. shearing jamba and shorn jewel reported.

Close Call For Anderson

LeRoy Anderson narrowly escaped injury when a mule driven wagon hit a gate post at his dairy barn. The wagon front wheel struck the post, throwing him from the wagon as a mule balked. He freed himself with no injuries as the rear wheel held the post.

Cambridge Woman Dies After Long Illness in 1926

Obituary notices report Mrs. John Frishia Emma Louise Kinsey of Cambridge Illinois born April 4 1881 died March 22 1926 aged 48 years 1 month 38 days. She moved to Florida with her mother in 1901 and later married John I. Frishie with three children. She was active in the Eldon Baptist Church and the Eastern Star and cared for her bedridden husband and another family member. The column also notes the death of Lois Gibson Rickman of Eldora and mentions family movements to Tulsa Oklahoma and related losses and funerals.
