The army worm has appeared in Hardin County with activity in Hamilton Franklin Black Hawk and Jackson counties and six Illinois counties. Severe Storm Strikes Eldora Area Causing Tree Damage
Friday night high winds toppled trees across Eldora and nearby towns in the severest storm since a past tornado. A large sign and windows were damaged at Henry Janssen Implement shop, roofs were touched, and floods closed streets until debris was cleared. Fifty Grinnell Girl Scouts and two Iowa Falls girls camping at Pine Lake sheltered in a pup tent before being moved to Steep Cottage and then cared for at Bales cottage.

Convention Gets Up Hot Fight In County Meeting
