The town mourns deaths of John Wickham and Mary Trass Cassady with services in Eldora and Tidorn Iowa. Wickham 975 died in Des Moines after years at Homestead and Wallace's Farmer, former Ledger worker. Jury cases and court actions in Hardin county

The first jury case began Monday in Hardin county with civil action by A G Baker against the estate of a former attorney. Other cases include wages claims from Ackley and a judge sentencing Raymond Smith to three months in jail for intoxicating liquor. Eldora man G Allison held on $800 bond for illegal possession. Vehicle registrations show 6,054 this year versus 5,860 last year. District court judgments list several named cases. A Jitney Supper fundraiser by the Band Mothers' Club is announced for next week in the gymnasium.

Iowa Falls Wins County Tournament Cup

Iowa Falls claimed the county cup after a tournament in Eldora beating Iowa Falls 41 to 22 in the final. Damages Sought in Auto Collision Lawsuit

R. R. Bateson of Hardin county sues Marshall county the board of supervisors L. J. Teal and L. Watanye Club Hosts Large Evening Dance Event

The Watanye Club stage a well attended dance with about sixty couples enjoying music by a locally formed four member orchestra. Volunteers served iced fruit drinks and doughnuts with coffee in the card room while Miss Lucille Brown and committee prepared a free checking room. Club officers include Miss Laura Hardy as president and Mrs. Nellie Grimes as vice president. The Watanye group, a women’s business club, emphasizes community service and plans new leadership after elections. A separate Methodist church pageant titled Night featured local youths, under Miss Myra Melbury and Miss Edith Babcock, to a large crowd, praised for its talent. A minor accident involved Curtis Steiner’s Ford bumping a storefront window but caused no damage. The Eldora Methodist Sunday School orchestra, led by W. G. Leslig, performed a 27-piece program at the M E church.
