Eldora defeated its guests 21 to 85 in a pair of games highlighted by strong shooting from Davia and steady team play. The boys lineup included Dornsbach, Buck, Lentz, Davidson and Johnston with Glasle replaced by Smith on fouls as Eldora led wire to wire. Nearby, the up county team faced a taller foe and struggled as Eldora halted center Santee, forcing a lone basket from him amid defensive pressure. Man Dies From Kerosene Fire After Pouring On Coals
Eilert Eckhoff of S A Hardy implement store was fatally burned Friday morning when a two gallon kerosene can exploded as he attempted to pour liquid onto embers. He ran from the building, was taken to the hospital, and died that evening. Eckhoff, 42, born Feb 27 1897 in Illinois, had lived in Iowa and Minnesota before settling in Eldora. He left a widow and five children, plus siblings and relatives. Funeral held at the Baptist church with burial in Eldora cemetery.
