Eldora School Opens With Large Tuition and Full Staff
The Eldora school year 1924 25 opens Monday with an extensive schedule. Supt Pye reports the tuition list the largest yet for the high school and most graduates will enroll in Eldora schools. Advance registration is due by Saturday noon and teachers plan a meeting and picnic that afternoon to renew friendships and prepare for the year.

Hardin County Fair Exhibits Draw Large County Showing
The county fair educational building overflowed with school displays. Fairfax Jackson township won first with South Fork Pleasant townships second and Hughes of Jackson township third. Gifford school won two next awards in primary and grammar rooms. Rural division top honors went to School No. One Grant township followed by Beaver Creek Pleasant township and Meeker in Tipton township. Norwood Pleasant township and Canter Ellis township earned next best prizes. Eldora and Boy's Training School led in consolidated and not consolidated classes. Radcliffe high school homemaking class led domestic science with Eldora’s Smith Hughes second. judges praised the quality. Eldora topped manual training with Whitten and Steamboat Rock next. Whitten model barn impressed. Agricultural projects featured eighty pecks of Early Ohio and Irish Cobbler potatoes from Oakdale and Racine schools, with top Early Ohio prizes to Dorothy Alliegon and Carl Lettow, top Irish Cobbler prizes to Dora Dettbarn and Marguerite Yarbrough. Sixty or more poultry exhibited, with sixty-eight purebred chickens auctioned to fund school costs. Oats crop prospects noted, with yields promising as funds for county education.

Four Generations Visit Here From Winfield Kansas
Four generations of the Eastman family from Winfield Kansas visit in their Lincoln car for the Lepley picnic on Sunday. Mr Chas HH Eastman, Clyde Hough’s uncle, travels with his wife and grandson and two great grandchildren. The Eastmans own oil land with nine active wells and two more drilling. The first well came in on Christmas day and funds bought the Lincoln car. Providence and Pleasant townships plan a joint women’s meeting at the Church in New Providence on Tuesday September 2 for an all day covered dish dinner. Miss Marke J Roberts from Amey will lead the event. All women of the two townships are invited.
