Soil judging contest for Hardin County schools set
A soil judging contest for vocational agriculture departments in Hardin County will be held Friday Oct 24 at the Al Albers farm east of Owasa. Calvin Moore says the Hardin County Soil Conservation District sponsors the event which starts 9 a.m. Students will judge three soil profiles with the top four scorers forming a team. The winning school receives a plaque and the high scorer from each school gets an individual award. Seven Hardin County schools currently have Vocational Agriculture programs Ackley Alden Eldora Hubbard Iowa Falls New Providence Radcliffe.
