Arthur J. DeWitt longtime New Providence resident died Monday at Evangel Hospital in Marshalltown at age 83. Funeral services were held Thursday at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Laurel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements by Bietsborn Funeral Home in Union. He was born February 11, 1882, in New Providence to A. Seymour and Sarah A. DeWitt. Survived by four sons James of Las Vegas Nevada L Everett Farmington Arthur Jr of Gilman Darrell D stationed with the Air Force in Japan two daughters Warena Cook and Margaret Petersen both of Waterloo 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter Alta and his parents three brothers and five sisters.
