Al Bell Returns To Steamboat

Al Bell, a noted traveler, spoke to Steamboat Rock students about his Canada trip. He showed his film Sons of Chinook in four chapters covering ranches wild animals Sarcee Indians and the Calgary Stampede. He announced plans for future films Sons of Austria and Sons of Seminoles and noted he makes all his own films.

The senior class toured Eldora courthouse visiting the county superintendent sheriff clerk and county offices. They thank officials for explanations and head to Waterloo for a National studio shoot at 9 am and attend the Dairy Cattle Congress that day.

Toby Helps Out junior play selection and class updates

Robert notes last Friday the play Toby Helps Out was chosen. Books arrived Tuesday morning for tryouts this week. A class meeting decided on $4 yearly dues. Students await class rings while studying the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Home Ec girls enjoy sewing and the typing class improves.

Teachers Attend Franklin and Hardin County Institute

On Monday October 3 teachers attended the Franklin and Hardin County Institute at Hampton. The program opened with registration at 8 30 am a general assembly and invocation and music. Dr Roy Brian of Iowa State Teachers College spoke at 9 30 am with later sessions and another assembly featuring Dr Marcus Back of Iowa University. The institute adjourned at 3 30 pm with remarks from speakers at State University of Iowa Iowa State Teachers College Ames Drake University and Polk County schools.

Music Notes Schedule Evening Practice Sessions
