Pvt. Charles E. Wall 22 of Hardin County Iowa Falls died after a three day illness from polio at Fort Riley Kansas base hospital. He was born April 14 1930 at Burdette later moving to Iowa Falls with his parents. Surviving parents a sister Mrs Clifford Ansdahl McCallsburg his fiancee Miss Mariane Yetley and his French ponier Mrs Nellie Stocka.

A Hardin County Democrat caravan will depart Alden at 10:30 for Fort Dodge where Gov Stevenson will deliver the only Iowa campaign address. The speech, tied to the Fort Dodge municipal airport dedication, is set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday with a massed band concert, fireworks, square dance, and a Sunday flight breakfast for 300 pilots. Planes christened by a dance band queen and remarks by Gov Beardsley and Rep Dolliver follow the ceremony.

Poppies Sold By VFW and Auxiliary in Eldora
A total of 2850 poppies were sold in Eldora last Saturday during the Poppy Day sale conducted by VFW past members and the Auxiliary. Proceeds of 300 will aid disabled veterans and local veterans or their families in need. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Smith served as post and Auxiliary co chairs.

Making Survey For 1954 Road Program

Funeral services for Otis Fremont Pulis age 63 are set for Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Iowa Falls Baptist Church. Rev. Clark Crowell will officiate with burial in Union Cemetery. He died Wednesday at his Iowa Falls home from a heart ailment. Born January 28, 1889 in Correctionville, he moved to Iowa Falls in 1890 and married Alice Stanfield in 1917 at Marshalltown. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, a son, a sister, three brothers, a half brother, and two grandchildren.
