Hubbard girls dominated third quarter to pull away, Sherry Mitterer 24 and Jane Elson 22 led Hubbard scoring while Jinx Lingaman poured in 30 for New Providence.
Dedication services on November 12 marked the completion of Radcliffe Methodist Church additions including a Sunday School wing a new kitchen and new equipment. Rev. Bareld Miler led the service with Rev. Havig Hart Turmer district superintendent delivering the dedication address to about 150 attendees. A post service tour followed with visitors from Cedar Falls Applington Fort Dodge Eldora and Ellsworth. The current Radcliffe Church was built and dedicated October 20 1898.
The Iowa Falls Laundry and Mr and Mrs W C Van Buskirk filed actions against two former employees and the Iowa Employment Security Commission over unemployment benefits. Plaintiffs claim Ethel C Posse and Ethel Me Thivmond quit voluntarily and did not apply for work aids yet were awarded benefits.
Steamboat Rock boys beat Wellsburg 52-48 as Robert Belken 20 and Bob Callaway 18 led the Pirates while Gordon Tastor pulled 17 rebounds. Wellsburg’s Erwin Rewerts 14 and Junior Hippen 12 contributed, marking Wellsburg’s third straight win over Steamboat. In women’s action, Wellsburg beat Steamboat 62-49 with Lois Haupt 24 and Shirley Krull 23 carrying the offense. Steamboat’s guards Pierson and Marquardt left the final half due to injuries.
Two suits against Iowa Banana Co Inc of Town Falls were filed in Dister Court on Nov 8. One suit by The Product Co Inc of New Orleans seeks 28741 for a promissory note dated June 3 1961. The other by Cay of New Orleans seeks 15750 unpaid balance of a financing note dated June 3 1961. Don W Barker of Tow Palle represents the plaintiff in both cases.
Hardin county star Randy Schultz, a 180 pound fullback, capped a four year high school career with 25 touchdowns and 1410 rushing yards on 104 carries plus 645 kickoff and punt return yards. He led Alden in offense and defense, drew unanimous all conference praise, and drew college interest from out of state. Schultz played for a team that allowed few scores, with signals guiding a defense that shut out opponents in 11 of 13 games.

Batten emerges as a top candidate for the Little All-America honor in Fort Scott reports. He is highlighted as an athletic standout, averaging 70 yards per game and scoring in key contests. On Nov 10, Batten fueled a 45-7 victory over Weniwot, returning the opening kickoff 60 yards and later breaking a 72 yard run for a touchdown.
A small group of men identified as SC Ford testers collected new Ford vehicles in Dearborn and delivered them across the state. Michel drove the group back to their base, guiding the fleet through several regions on the run.
