Thirteen members attended the Lutheran Mary and Martha Circle meeting at Mrs. Daleske’s home. Officers were elected, lessons from Amos discussed, and lap robes sewn. Next gathering a gift swap and a Christmas party were planned with hostesses and venues noted.
Ron and the Blue Notes provide music for dancing Saturday evening November 1 at Pine Lake Country Club. A sandwich lunch is served at 12:90 p.m. Committee members include Dr. Thomas Stonebrook Dr. Robert Shirley co chairmen Lloyd Berg Harold Creps Raymond Nance Mrs Hervey Riemenschneider James Rigging Gary Thompson Kell Van Paller Wendel Holmes Merritt Pitcher Rex Twiles Lee Paige r and Jack A. Buelthman.
Three people were initiated into the Business and Professional Women's Club Tuesday evening at Blanche and Fihe's Tea Room dining meeting. Initiated were Mrs. Ron Winters Judy Bentley and Mrs Kenneth Wafcutt. Twenty nine members answered roll call. Talks were given by attendance contest chairs Mrs Shelby Clemons and Mrs Erva Cobb. Fruitcakes will be sold by club members. Mrs Ralph Allbee is committee chairman. Hostesses were Mrs Robert Fuller Mrs Ron Winters and Mrs James McLean.
Mr and Mrs Mel McDonald sponsor the union youths and will accompany them as adult participants. Attending youths include Larry Harris Theresa Seward Jerry Rash Dennis Mads and Harry Hay with dates and minor details incomplete.
Christian Church notes list worship at 9:90 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. with Sunday School at 30 p.m. Youth Group Monday at pm and weekday school for through fifth grade. St Paul Lutheran notes Friday adult class, Saturday confirmation at 9, Sunday Bible classes at 9:30 and divine service at 10:20 with Thanksgiving Day 10 a.m. service and Walther League Play at 7:30 p.m.
Members of the N. T. T. Club and their husbands held a Thanksgiving Dinner at Blanche and Ethel's Tea Room with twenty three attendees. Hosts were Mrs. Minnie Grantow and Mrs. Lydia Harmon. After dinner, cards were played and prize winners listed. The next meeting is November 15 at Mrs. W. H. Sanders's home.
Sunday activities include morning worship at 4 pm and a gospel service in the evening, with Sunday School for George Of Stydt and various youth and music meetings. Tuesday features Ladies Prayer Meeting with Mrs E A Gross. Wednesday and Friday outline joint services and a State Youth Rally in Des Moines.
Mrs. K D Luhman hosted a dinner Friday November 11 honoring her mother Helena Luhman of Eldora. Attendees included Mrs. Helena Luhman, L E Kausischke and Doris, Paul Sievert, Dewey Eller, all of Eldora or Hubbard, with guests present. The Lutheran Study Guild met in the Was on home for its November session with devotions led by Mrs. John Zimmermann and a Bible study on Amos. Funds for Indian church work were approved for Rev. Arnold Lutz and teacher Robert Granner. Christmas gifts were authorized for the Lutz and Granner families. Officers for the coming year were elected: Mrs. Harold Kulow, president. Meta Balvanz, vice president. Mrs. Zimmermann, secretary. Mrs. Miller, treasurer. The December 20 meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in Mrs. Haroki Kulow’s home.
A ceramics program was presented by Mrs. Olin Farley at the American Home II meeting held in the Farley home Tuesday evening. Each member crafted a ceramic piece as social hour refreshments were served with Mrs. Robert Farmer assisting. The December 13 meeting will be at Mrs. J. W. Winger's home. Captains named for Pine Lake Pearls weight loss contest are Leo Hughes and Zora Murphy. The group met at the Farm Bureau Building. a $5 Christmas gift will go to the best loser. A light diet lunch concluded the session. Owasa Methodist Church announces morning worship at 10 a.m. Pastor Dewey Lamprecht will lead. Bible Study Hour is at 11 a.m. The W.S.C.B. will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. The Good News Quartet from Holland, Iowa, will perform spiritual music at the Owasa church Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Hardin County Agricultural Extension Council has scheduled township representative elections for two year terms beginning January 1 1967. Alden township voters meet December 8 at 8 p.m. at Alden school. Eldora township gathers November 19 at 8 p.m. at Farm Bureau Building. Pleasant township votes November 19 at 6 p.m. at Roughwoods Hall. Union township voters meet December 5 at 8 p.m. at Union school.
The Eldora Church of Christ led by Leonard Wilfong offers Bible School for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. with the sermon Protection in Depth, followed by an Evening Service at 7 p.m.
On the active market replacement cattle and Holstein stock traded with calves at 27.00 to 9.80 per head on about 50 head. Steers sold from 23.00 to 24.30, while other stock and Pedelty Eldare and Dunn Clemons entries appear in the catalog with varied daytime and nighttime listings.
United Church of Christ Winger leads Thanksgiving sermon "Thanksgiving 180" with no Sunday school. Assemblies of God hosts special speaker Rev Stanton Johnson and district harvest home dinner at 1 pm and evening youth rally. First Methodist lists services and events including MYF, circles, choir, and a union Thanksgiving service led by Rev J Winger.
