Set Soil Loss Ordinance Discussion Tue s
A public educational meeting for Hardin county officials and interested residents will be held Tuesday November 20 at 7 30 p m at the extension office in Eldora. Dr Min Amemiya from Iowa State University and Bill Greiner of the State Department of Soil Conservation will discuss proposed ordinances addressing soil loss at contraction sites shopping centers new housing developments and other urban areas. Hardin county already enforces soil loss limits under the Soil Conservancy District Act and model ordinances used by other communities will be reviewed. The event is sponsored by the Hardin County Extension Service and local Soil Conservation District commissioners.
