GOP Workshop To ITS Work Camp Be At IF Monday
Hardin County Republicans plan a Monday night workshop at Woods Motor Inn Iowa Falls chaired by James Potgeter and others. Ben Webster national chairman of the Republican Workshop is expected to attend and move into the dormitory. The interim program hires five staff. the permanent plan staffs 17 for a 40-boy dormitory and Stephens Forest camp within 30 miles. The Board of Control seeks 257380 dollars to start. Objective is to relieve overcrowding at the training school and provide therapeutic work for older boys. the local facility houses 298 boys, 40 over capacity.

Engelson Forced To Sell Dairy Herd After Fire
Cecil Engelson near Buckeye was forced to sell his 17 head dairy cow herd at Eldora Livestock Sales after a 3 am barn and milking parlor fire. Twenty nine head sold for 200 to 270 dollars with the remainder under 200. Engelson said he could not find a milking site and cows had to be milked immediately to avoid spoilage. He entered the milking parlor at 3 am, lit a switch, an explosion blew him out. he suspects a gas leak caused the blast. He did not estimate fire damage. Training School Hires Psychiatrist for Boys Facility
