Judge Uhlenhopp Appointed to Iowa Supreme Court
Judge Harvey Uhlenhopp of Hampton has been appointed by Governor Robert Ray to the Iowa Supreme Court to succeed Justice Bruce Snell who retires March 4. A district court judge since 1953 he is currently senior judge of the Eleventh Judicial District covering Hardin County. He formerly served Franklin County Attorney from 1946 to 1950 and was a state representative.

Golf clubs stolen from Pine Lake Country Club
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office was notified Monday that a set of golf clubs belonging to Steve Storebrook of Tidorn had been stolen from an unlocked locker at the Pine Lake Country Club. Estella G. Waterbury was granted a divorce from Henry William Waterbury in Hardin County District Court Monday. Each party received all personal property and effects now in their possession.

Zearing Rites For Mrs. Steelman
Funeral services were held Thursday February 26 at the United Methodist Church in Zearing for Ruth Steelman 73 who died at her home after a four week illness following a stroke. Rev. Richard Miller officiated with interment in Honey Creek Cemetery near New Providence. Survivors include husband Hl Steelman three sons Lyle Arnie Floyd and three daughters Berniece Mehlisch Frances Runge Virginia Golly ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bernard Rudolph John Kuper David Mazurik Kinsey Chevrolet Walter Pierson Thora Christianson Margery Treavor William Debbrunz and William Bittner are named in the obituary text. Thayer to Speak on Farm Program Gaylord Thayer ASCS Iowa Falls will discuss farm program March 4 at 8 p.m. in the New Providence Vocational Ag room. Public invited.
