In Hardin county, 49 participants across six discussion groups weighed democracy and freedom. Respondents include 19 housewives, 17 farmers, a banker, a life insurance underwriter, a pharmacist, four teachers, two merchants, and four college students. Most saw threats from within and aimed to strengthen military and technological leadership to meet global challenges. a large majority also valued Latin America's peaceful growth as a U.S. goal.

Auxiliary Starts Recreation Plan At County Home
The Fedora Auxiliary led the first monthly recreation at the Alardin County Home on Wednesday with aid from the Fedora group. Twenty four patients played bingo, prizes were given, and lunch followed. A March 1 hearing in Hampton will consider consolidating Eldora Iowa Falls and Hampton Railway Express agencies. About 600 people attended the grand opening of the Nardin County Motor Bank on Edgington Ave and 15th St. Eldora Chamber of Commerce officials led the ribbon cutting.
