New admission prices start Sunday due to the 20 percent U S tax and higher costs, 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children under 12. Saturday matinees 40 cents. Dr. G. P. Kier Dies Former Eldora Dentist
Dr. George Paul Kier of San Diego died of a heart attack on August 20. He had practiced dentistry in Eldora before relocating to California. Burial occurred in San Diego after a 50th wedding anniversary celebrated June 24. Survived by wife, daughter Mrs. Wilson Bennett, son Dr. Edward W. Kier of Los Angeles, and brothers Ernest of San Diego and Elmer Kier of Odits Atigeles.

Hadley Eldora longtime leader Hadley Wilson was re elected president of the Hardin county Old Settlers group at the Hubbard annual meeting. Over 200 attendees from Harding county heard Judge Harvey Ablenhopp deliver the principal address. Hubbard mayor Walter Balvant welcomed attendees. One Staff Vacancy As Whitten Opens
The Whitten consolidated school opened Monday with registration and assignments in the forenoon and full time schedule starting Tuesday. Death Notice of Franklin Bert Shekels
Eldora friends of Franklin Bert Shekels received word of his death August 21 after a stroke in Murfreesboro Tennessee while traveling with Mrs Shekels and their son Herschel to their Miami Florida home. He is survived by a son George and wife a daughter Winnifred twin grandsons Bob and Don and their wives, all of Miami. His father was a pioneer farmer in Grundy county. The family moved to Eldora in the 1880s. The former Miss Clara Shekels a sister was a longtime Eldora schoolteacher.

German Niece Seeks Half of Late I F Resident Estate
Marie Galow the German niece of Fred Charles Foetzke of Iowa Falls filed a district court suit in Des Moines seeking $12,431 or half of Foetzke’s estate. Foetzke died in 1948 in the Independence state hospital with no known heirs, leaving $24,862. Galow resides in the British zone of Germany.

Firestone Closes Stores Tomorrow in Webster City and Eldora
The D and H Firestone store in Webster City will close tomorrow, marking the end of the business there. Earlier this month owner Howard Scholz announced the Eldora store will also close, after operating since May 1949 when he bought the business from Guy Strickler. Marion Munsinger, the Music Box manager, will join a new route run by Joel Bjerkstrand, who recently bought many music boxes in Cedar Rapids in preparation.

Eldora taxpayers and railroad representatives led by R A Clark met Hardin County board of supervisors to protest a $48 150 tax increase in the 1953-54 budget.
