Eldora firemen staged a community demonstration at the fair while residents hosted guests from Tama, Columbus, Kenocha, Des Moines, and elsewhere. Weekend trips included Lost Island outings, birthdays, and family gatherings as neighbors moved between Tama, St Ansgar, and Hubbard with many dinners and visiting relatives.
Hubbard area notes report the Mannetter reunion with about 100 attendees from Charles City Des Moines Rockwell City and Hubbard. A new daughter Ann Amelia was born to Cecil and wife at Eldora hospital. Numerous relatives visit family homes attend picnics and birthdays. An American Legion installation is planned and several Hubbard residents engage in travel medical visits and social events.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Dubberke Ruth and others attended a pot luck dinner at Mrs August Engelking home. The Hilker King Bunte reunion at Hubbard Park on August 17 drew 81 attendees from Ida Grove Sioux City Spring Valley Minn Charles City Dysart Alden Buckeye and other towns with numerous Hilker and Bunte families listed.
The notice lists Sunday activities starting at 10 am with Sunday school 11 am morning service and a sermon titled The Voice of Hell by the pastor. Evening service at 8 pm features a sermon Where Are The Nine. Thursday prayers meet at 8 pm as the midweek service.
Sunday schedule at St Paul Lutheran lists no Sunday school or services. Morning 10 30 a guest speaker pastor Robert Lange from St Louis. Afternoon 2 30 p m guest pastor Walter Discher from Clarinda Iowa. Monday choir rehearsal 8 00 p m.
The Eldora First Congregational Church hosts a potluck in the city park after the 11 o’clock service on Sunday August 24. Rev Ralph B Imes leads Divine Worship at 8 and 11 with Sunday School at 10 and an adult class. Soloist Miss Winifred Petty will perform.

Rev James R McMarrow presides as pastor with 10:00 Sunday School 11:00 Morning Worship and 7:30 Evangelistic Service All are welcome to attend at the church location.
St Marys Catholic Church and Christian Church Disciples announce weekly services. Father L V McDonough leads Catholic Masses at 8:00 and 10:00 a m with daily Mass at 7:30 a m. Christian Church meets at I C Q O F Hall with sermon and communion at 9:00 and Sunday school at 10:00. all are welcome.
