St Marys Study Club Discusses Church Study

Unit one of St Marys Study Club met with Mrs Lawrence McNertney Tuesday evening to continue the study of the church. Miss Emma Burke will host the group on April 25.

B P W Reelects Mrs Wickey President at Meeting

Mrs Jeannette Wickey was reelected president of the Business and Professional Women's group Tuesday evening. Other officers named included Bernice Hall as corresponding secretary, Buelah Eckhoff recording secretary, Bernice Frerichs treasurer, Betty Lou Hubbard first vice president, Alvena Gildemeister second vice president, and Carol Stonebrook delegate at large. Mary McGivney Iowa Falls district director attended as a guest. An International Relations committee chaired by Mrs A E Anderson, Mrs V H Vilmont, and Ruby Miller led the evening after a dinner at the Cox sisters home.

Mary Lou Gerlach Weds Ralph Edward West in Des Moines

Mary Lou Gerlach daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Gerlach of Hubbard married Ralph Edward West son of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. West of Des Moines on Saturday afternoon April to the Trinity Lutheran Church Des Moines officiated by Rev. Eynon. The bride wore white with blue accessories and carried red roses. Ann Gerlach was maid of honor in green with pink roses. John West was best man. A reception followed at the Uno home. The couple will reside in Des Moines where Mrs. West works as a nurse at Broadlawns General Hospital and Mr. West is with Meredith Publishing.

Country Club Plans Chuck Wagon Dance

Country club members will attend a Chuck Wagon dance on Thursday evening April 20 with western attire and a barbecue buffet lunch. Young Mothers Club Hosts Bridge and Canasta Meeting

The Young Mothers club met Tuesday evening at Mrs. Lloyd Palmitier s home for a bridge and canasta party. Eighteen members attended. co-hostesses were Mrs. Robert Jackson, Mrs. Val Hilsabeck and Mrs. Ray Pyle. Guests included Mrs. Raleigh King Jr. and Mrs. Roger Cain. High prize in canasta went to Mrs. B W Burke and bridge to Mrs. William Luick.

Mothers Club Hosts Husband Party Evening Event

Mrs. Cecil Way hosted the Mothers club on Tuesday evening with husbands of members as guests. Thirty six attended a dinner before a bridge game. Prizes went to Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Scott, Mrs. Beecher Crosley, Ned Fagg and Mrs. D. W. Dickinson. The organizing committee included Mrs. Robert Fergson, Mrs. Lloyd Berg and Mrs. Floyd Gaede.

Saddle Club Meeting Held Wednesday

Members of the Pine Lake Sadd le Club held a party at the Pine Lake Wildlife club house Wednesday evening with over 70 attendees. Games entertained the children as a business meeting preceded the fun. Mrs. Kurtz Elected to Attend National Convention

At Ackley county Federation of Woman's clubs meeting Mrs. G. W. Kurtz of Eldora, county chairman, was elected to attend the national convention in Boston in May and will name her alternate. Eldora's Mrs. C. E. Barnes placed third in the district book reading contest. A panel on racial and religious differences was presented by four Jes Maines group members.
