A runaway from the Iowa Training School for Boys in Eldora escaped serious injury Tuesday morning in an accident near Owasa. Gerald Gear of McCallsburg, a teen in the ITS, sped at high speed as Iowa Highway Patrolman McMurray pursued. Gear was treated at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital and released after lacerations and abrasions. He faces multiple charges including driving without a license and operating without the owner's consent.
