Steamboat Rock approves gas and electric franchise ordinances
The Town of Steamboat Rock Iowa passes ordinances granting Iowa Electric Light and Power Company a twenty five year non exclusive franchise to erect, maintain and operate natural gas and electric systems within the town. The ordinances detail distribution lines poles conduits and equipment, street occupation, customer extension rights, rates, and contractor responsibilities. Provisions cover construction standards, paving restoration, liability, and acceptance required within sixty days.
