Edwin E. Green 34 of Frederika was named superintendent of the Owasa consolidated school for 1954 55 by the Owasa school board. He will take the post July 1 on a one year contract and succeeds B H Starr who leaves for the Donnelson Iowa district. Six teachers signed contracts at the Tuesday night meeting though coaches Clell Busby and James See did not.

Roland Withdraws From Short Term For Primary Clarity
Lloyd Roland a Republican candidate for three years on the Hardin county board of supervisors said he will withdraw his name from the ballot for the two month unexpired term this year. He had filed for the term starting January 1 1955 and for the short unexpired term but will drop the short term to avoid voter confusion in the June 7 primary. Fred J Klein the Democrat seeking the same three year term did not file for the short term.

Strothcamp Enters County Auditor Race As Democrat
Merle E. Strothcamp of Hubbard filed county auditor papers last weekend just before the deadline. The 25 year old Democrat runs unopposed in the June primary and is a Radcliffe high school graduate who studied commerce at Elsworth Junior College class of 1949. He served two years in the Army in World War II and previously worked in business with his father Adolph Strothcamp at the Sherman Implement. He is single.

Three Injured In Two Car Crash Near Wellsburg
Three people were injured in a two car head on collision about four miles west of Wellsburg on a secondary road around 6 p.m. Tuesday. The injured are Wilt A. Jutting 63 Wellsburg Charles L Meints 59 Steamboat Rock and Mrs Meints 58 all admitted to Grundy Center hospital. Jutting and Mrs Meints were noted as most seriously hurt with Jutting undergoing surgery Tuesday evening. Mrs Meints was thrown through the windshield of the car driven by her husband.

Career Day at Eldora High Set for April 12
Eldora high school plans the third annual Career Day on April 12 to expose students to various vocations. March Term Of Court Ends Here
Judge John M Schaupp closed the March term of district court with one man fined 300 dollars and given a 60 day suspension of his driver's license. James Van Blethen of Minnesota pleaded guilty. The next term will be in May a two week term with no jury scheduled.

Funeral services for 36 year old Mrs Lawrence L Kelly of Eldora will be held at 2 30 PM from the First Methodist church with Rev John K Moore in charge. Interment will be at Mohall North Dakota. Survivors include her husband three children and her parents. Born November 12 1917 she was raised in Kenmare ND and worked for the Kenmare News before joining the Renville County Farmer in 1939. The couple farmed near Mohall until 1942. They moved to Eldora in 1950. Longenecker Funeral Home handled arrangements.
