Hanover College reports progress toward a 5.5 million dollar five year development program begun in 1961. Total gifts reach 5.375 million with 125 thousand remaining. Fund categories include general operating expenses and physical development with endowment and faculty salaries priorities.
Parker presents The Americanization of Emily at 7:30. Lambda Chi Alpha Hayride. Beta Phi Mu House Dance. Acquaintance Day for High School Seniors. Hanover hosts sports events against Anderson including tennis cross country and a 2:00 kickoff at Morgan Field. Sunday open houses in Donner Ide and Women’s Residence Halls with refreshments in Donner Cafeteria. Monday 10:45 Assembly The Headless Horseman. Wednesday 7:00 Student Senate in Admin Building lower lounge. Thursday 9:40 Chapel Dr Ronald McNear Study Secretary Philadelphia PA 2:30 Classic Hall Discussion with Dr McNear. 4:30 Inter-Residence Council Admin Building Room 296. Friday 10 6 Art Exhibit and Sale Classical Hall.
An art exhibit and sale arriving from London Grafica Arts will display 400 to 500 prints by masters such as Salvador Dali Gauguin Chagall and Picasso at Classic Hall Hanover College. Prices range seven fifty to fifteen hundred dollars with a 10 percent letter of credit to benefit Hanover College.
Hanover prepares for homecoming with Scrap Day pep rally Friday in Wiley lot and a street dance. Queen hopefuls include Twilo Watkins and Harriet Thompson. The Mersey Beats play Friday night while the Billy Taylor Orchestra entertains alums at the Homecoming Ball Saturday. An all-school luncheon precedes the Hanover versus Manchester game at Morgan Field with a memorabilia exhibit in Long Gym. Indiana history theme Remember When guides decor, with half time featuring the queen and court and Indiana Lt. Governor Robert Rock among judges. Donna Dohn serves as chairwoman for the weekend.
Hanover High hosts Acquaintance Day inviting about a thousand prospective students and parents. Registration starts 9:30 a.m. near Parker Auditorium, followed by a College Choir performance and a panel discussion on The Liberal Arts Tradition. After lunch, campus tours and a 2:00 p.m. football game with Anderson conclude the day.
All new students must attend a required meeting in Parker Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. An illustrated lecture on library use lasts one hour, followed by a half hour test.
