In a rain soaked clash Earlham defeats Hanover 18 to 7 in a muddy field. Earlham’s Jessup and Rapier starred with strong carries while Hanover settled for yardage on repeated line plunges but failed to finish drives.
A College Point House meeting of the junior class discussed skipping the annual yearbook due to time and cost worries. The session included a football game where Hanover scored, Paulus led drives, and Husky Hoosiers added forward passes as Indiana players and Purdue staff were noted among officials.
Seniors select canes for protection against freshmen and girls wear mortarboards to add dignity. Junior class criticized for not producing an annual, prompting student body pressure. Social committee plans a class party at Butler Falls and hints at forming a club to publish an annual despite the Juniors. Richard Schmitt spent the weekend at home in Columbus.

It reports progress on a waste material as a cotton substitute for explosives and seeks new rubber sources for war needs. The group aims to produce disease resistant crops and notes a weed rich in thymos that can be cultivated as a drug source.
Faculty members will entertain the student body at the gym on Halloween night. Everyone is invited to attend in masks to compete for prizes, with clubs presenting stunts for a large basket of cats. The party will feature cider and doughnuts for all, aiming to be a fun college gathering.
