Hanover Defeats Georgetown 9 to 3 on Woods Field

Hanover defeated Georgetown University of Georgetown Kentucky 9 to 3 on Woods Field reversing a prior loss. Dickey sparked the offense with a three bagger, Farrell pitched well and struck out ten, while Hollenbeck and Drew contributed strong plays on defense. Georgetown had early pressure, but Hanover balanced with timely errors and solid pitching.

The message invites Hanover alumni to the nearing commencement of the seventy-eighth class. Oldfather Receives T B Blackstone Fellowship

C H Oldfather 06 who graduated this spring from McCormick Theological Seminary has received the T B Blackstone fellowship in New Testament Greek and will sail in August to study abroad. The scholarship requires marked Greek proficiency and a thesis. This year the subject was The Eschatological Teaching of Jesus. Normally two years, this year the grant is divided and he will study abroad for one year.

Baseball recap shows hits and double plays from Madison game

Three base hits by Dickey and two base hits by Hamar highlighted the Madison contest. A double play sequence Drew to Dickey to Drew occurred. Pitcher Farrell struck out ten, Steel seven, Um pire and Anglebeck of Madison fanned. Time of game was two hours. The team traveled to Franklin for a Wednesday game, then faced Earlham at Richmond on Thursday and Moore’s Hill at Moore’s Hill on Friday.

Sophomores Elect Revonah Staff For 1912 Yearbook

The Sophomores chose the Revonah staff at a called meeting Tuesday. Robt. S. Sitler is Editor-in-Chief with Stella Kehoe as Assistant Editor and Herbert Vancil as Business Manager. Committee chairs include Dowell, Boyer, Jones, Iddings, MacConnell, Blair, each to hire two assistants. Great things expected for next year’s Revonah.

Lectures and Freshman Boat Excursion Highlight College Week

Professor J M Coleman of Mercer Pennsylvania spoke four chapel lectures on Social Ethics drawing attentive students with clear reasoning and dry humor. The Freshman Class excursion by mail boats drew about 120 attendees from Hanover Madison and beyond with chaperones Prof Hadley Wolfe Millis Belcher and Miss Marble. a bright moonlit night and orderly trip marked a successful event.

Open Air Christian Meeting Draws Large Evening Crowd

Two Christian associations held an open air meeting on Classic Hall steps Sunday evening. Rev L H Harris preached to a large crowd, under stars, more people than typical in warm weather. The open air services began last year and will continue this term, with special efforts for the next gathering.
