K. K. Thompson of the senior class won first place in the Gilpin Essay Contest with City Government by Commission. Fred C. Millis and K. P. Miller tied for second for essays on A Phase of Economic Development and How the College can make for Better Citizenship. J. E. Almond placed fourth with The American Reign of Terror. PRESS CLUB BANQUET HONORS TRIANGLE STAFF
The Press Club held a banquet at The Hanover for outgoing seniors of The Triangle staff with all members and Prof. Souter attending. Toasts praised the paper and institution, election of new officers followed, and E M Harrison became president while A Farrell served as secretary among other posts.

Miss Esta Young, a former Han over student, visits Hanover friends recently. Enthusiasm in a Hanover literary contest reached a peak Tuesday night as the victorious Lits celebrated into the night. Proprietor Monroe woke to run the sale of lunches. Miss Mary Hall departed for Vevay on Wednesday afternoon by way of Madison and the Hattie Brown.

Dr Millis Hosts Madison Basketball Team at Supper
Last Thursday at the Jefferson House in Madison Dr Millis entertained Coach Weber athletic director Nagel and Professor Boyd with the basketball team including Whitaker Miles Nowlin Archer Voris and subs Hamar Reynolds. Whitaker Hamar and Boyd were absent. The gathering featured stories and laughter and underscored team support from faculty and students. Saturday a scrub baseball game on Woods Athletic Field sparked rivalry as Sophomores hunted botany specimens. Misses Flo and Gladys Vestal spent the weekend at home in Canaan KE. M Harrison, 11, sick with measles. Spring tennis mania returns as repaired courts fill again.
