Varsity Baseball Ends Season With 7 0 Win Over Moores Hill

The Hanover varsity baseball team closed its season Friday May 26 with a dominant 7 0 victory over Moores Hill. Hanover exploded for four runs in the first inning and added three more in the eighth aided by strong hitting from Dickey Slawson and Scroggins. Dashiell held Moores Hill to scarce offense as Hanover committed only two errors in a crowd of Greensburg visitors.

Social Economics Trip to Jeffersonville Reformatory

The Sociologists visited the State reformatory at Jeffersonville last Saturday. They were given full access with an escort, enjoyed music from the institution band, and were warmly hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kehon on return. Prof. Hadley and Coach Weber kept the group orderly and cheerful. This marks their second tour following a Cragmont visit to the Insane Hospital with similar courtesies.

Millis Delivers Baccalaureate Sermon at Presbyterian Church

Dr W A Millis gave the Baccalaureate sermon to the graduating class at the Presbyterian Church. His address titled Social Bigeneration argued that the Kingdom of God is within, not a political regime, and that regeneration must come from the individual heart rather than external reform.

Athletic Association Elects Officers and Managers

The Athletic Association held a Friday meeting to elect officers and managers for next year. Dickey was named baseball captain and Kehoe the season manager. Arthur Iddings won the basketball manager post after faculty committee action. The Coach earned an H in four sports. Officers elected include President Mann Blair, Vice President Sitler, Treasurer C. Moffett, and Secretary.

Fiji Wedding Unites Thompson and Archer in Simple May Ceremony

On Monday May 29 1911 at 2 pm Dr John S Hawk united Kenneth K Thompson and Miss Bernice Archer in a Fiji style wedding at the bride's home. Best man W H Nagel of Cincinnati attended. Bridesmaids wore purple and white while Tau Chapter members were present. After a luncheon the couple left for New York to attend a missionary convention before sailing to Liang Tan China for an eight year mission.
