Opening week saw the Freshmen beat the Sophomores 33 to 25 as Montgom ery and A Brashear starred for the freshmen while Manaugh led the sophomores. In the Senior-Junior game the seniors prevailed 22 to 15 with Hufford shining and I E Brashear contributing.
Mr. R. H. Edwards, guest for Y M C A Social Service work, spoke on The Four Square Life at chapel. He outlined four awakenings from self to others to community to the Infinite and urged living under God for others. He returned Thursday with The Hearing Ear, stressing listening to the Spirit against worldly voices and aligning life with Christ.
President Millis returned to Hanover after a weeklong absence and gave multiple talks. He spoke to the Association of Presbyterian College Presidents in Chicago and to the Association of American Colleges there. He preached at Grace Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Evansville and was the principal speaker at a large municipal dinner in Muncie. The Y M C A building drive for $209 000 was launched in Muncie.
An informal Hanover dinner in Chicago on January 21 brought together alumni including President Millis and Dr. John M. Coulter. After an evening of informal speaking, attendees decided to form an organization to meet regularly.
Hanover College will host the annual week of prayer from February 4 to 18. The speakers are Rev. French W. Thompson of New Albany and Rev. Wm. C. Covert D D 85 pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago. Dr. Covert gave the class of 1915 its commencement address and impressed the students with his ability.
William Herbert Gibbs, age 18, has pledged the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. The event marks his commitment to the fraternity and begins affiliation with its chapter.
The Y M C A held a banquet at the Presbyterian Church parlors with Dr Millis as toastmaster. G A Blackwood praised student-run leadership and urged expanded service by the Hanover Association.
