Commencement Date Advanced One Week At Millis College

President Millis announced in chapel that commencement would be held on June 15, one week earlier than planned to allow those needed on farms to leave sooner. Winter term exams are March 21 and 22, spring term opens March 26, with five exams over two days. Spring exams May 30 and 31. No mid spring term for teachers. summer normal school begins June 10 with regular college work. Four Saturdays of the spring term will carry full credit for four hour classes.

Dr Poole Delights Audience At Lyceum Evening

A large Wednesday audience enjoyed Frederick Poole's Lyceum lecture and reading on China. He outlined China's role in world politics, discussed Chinese language and drama, and performed act one of The Yellow Jacket in costume, revealing deep insight and appreciation.

French Department Presents Program in Chapel

The French Department under Miss Terhune presented a chapel program showcasing three numbers of French culture. Ada Colgate and Sedie Gilcrist sang La Charmante Marguerite, Berceuse and a finale of La Marseillaise, displaying strong voices and patriotic spirit.

Smileage Campaign Succeeds in Hanover

Professor Woodworth overseeing the Smileage effort reports strong local support in Hanover. Students and townspeople have raised over the quota with a total of 41 dollars by Thursday noon. Senior class chief Paul Carson, Junior class leader Lucket, Sophomore Rogers, and Freshman Horn head their campaigns while the Hanover Lyceum Union mobilizes villagers to contribute.

High School Narrowly Falls to Charleston in Close Battle

Hanover’s high school basketball team lost a tight Saturday game to Charleston High School. Jim Van Antwerp starred at center with four field goals, while Cox sparked a late lead before Charleston scored in the final seconds. Good anchored defense as Cassidy showed promise for Hanover.

Clarence Orner Represents Hanover in State Oratorical Contest

Clarence Orner of Hanover spoke in Indianapolis last Friday on The Rights of Small Nations, arguing Germany violated small nations in Belgium and that postwar rights will favor smaller states. Claude Sipe accompanied him. final standings list Orner tied for sixth among six named placings.
