Actions reported from the Indiana Collegiate Athletic League meeting focus on Butler University, summer baseball plans, and arrangements for the state meet. Officials discussed member participation and scheduling, with emphasis on upcoming events and governance.
At a meeting of the Indiana College Athletic League held in Indianapolis on April 11 Butler was allowed to play against league members this year with students carrying ten hours of work. The Butler system will permit five hours of flunking without ineligibility and a constitutional revision was ordered by Dr John White Rose Poly and Coach Westfall State Normal. A rumor suggested disapproval of the LaFayette state meet. Delegates included Allan Ramsey Hanover and others. Earlham did not attend.
Professor Albert Charman of Indiana State Normal School and Indiana State Board of Charities and Corrections led chapel services Friday. He emphasized how college studies shape character and that schooling forms more than future habits, during Dr. Millis’s visit as his host.
The athletics department will hold an inter class tennis tournament with two teams per class, a men’s team and a mixed team of one boy and one girl, played in round robin format. Tryouts should be arranged with class presidents. the event aims to boost interest after the successful inter class baseball series. Miss Harding spent Tuesday in Indianapolis.
Weather disruptions halted early games as Seniors and Sophomores battled to a 4 to 3 win for the Seniors on Kehoe’s steal of home. Freshmen beat Juniors 8 to 1 with notable hitting, while Seniors edged Freshmen 3 to 2 after a two-run fifth. Juniors then crushed Sophomores 138 to 8 with Hart debuting as pitcher.
