Naval Training Plan For College Students
A summer naval training plan drafted by former Secretary of the Navy Meyer would allow a limited number of college students who have completed at least two years of study to undertake training cruises on battleships of the North American squadron. Not more than twenty cadets per ship will be accepted, prioritizing physical fitness and forming part of a potential emergency naval reserve alongside local militia at ports. The program aims to popularize the navy and provide practical readiness in times of need.
