Reserve takes squeaker over Hammond to force title rematch
In the Dixie Youth state tournament in Houma, F.O.R.D. Reserve upset Hammond 10-9 after a lights-out delay caused by a shorted transformer. Gerald William hit a two-run homer in the fifth for Reserve, who overcame a 9-8 deficit behind four Reserve homers and a late rally led by a two-out single, a sacrifice, and William's game-winner off Mark Dangerfield.
