Ponchatoula weighs council redistricting study by PAR
Ponchatoula City Council hires the Public Affairs Research Council to study redistricting five posts into four districts with one at large. PAR plans to produce three alternate maps at up to 1500 dollars total, with decisions due later this year. HUD funds may aid water, sewer, streets, drainage, recreation, and senior facilities. next hearing set for April 27. The council also approved electricity in four city areas, a March sales tax transfer to general fund, and thanked volunteers for the 1978 Strawberry Festival.
