Catch and Release TLC for Big Bass and Other Trophy Fish
The Associated Press urges gentle handling to protect large bass and other trophy fish. Use small mesh nets, keep the fish in water while unhooking, lift horizontally with belly support, avoid squeezing, and wet gloves. Photograph quickly, release softly, and never toss. For giants use a cradle or gloved hand, lift from underneath, then return them gently to the water.
