Toledo Bend clearing target set for August 1966
The Sabine River authority of Louisiana sets August 1966 as the start date for land clearing on the Toledo Bend dam and reservoir project. Chairman Claude Kirkpatrick says the schedule gives timber owners time to remove commercial timber while addressing flood concerns for 35,000 acres of federal forest lands and navigable waters. The project will involve Texas and Louisiana cooperation with $15 million earmarked by the Louisiana Legislature for five years.

Robertson Buried Today
Religious funeral services for Mr. Wilson Harvey Robertson were to be held at the First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula with the Rev. A L Clegg officiating. Burial would follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Robertson, 75, died Tuesday at Lake Kemp Hospital in Independence. He was a lifelong Ponchatoula native and is survived by his widow Leola McManus in Sertson and daughters Mrs L Weodple of New Orleans and Mrs Lee Roy Hige of Alexandria among other relatives.
