Charles Dewitt Cutrer Dies After Long Illness
Charles Dewitt Cutrer Sr. 83, died Friday at his home on Thomas Street after a lengthy illness. A native of Spring Creek, he lived in Hammond since 1936. Services were at Spring Creek Baptist Church with burial in Spring Creek cemetery. Masonic rites were at the graveside. Survivors include wife Frances Blades, two sons Charles Dewitt Jr and Carl Cutter, daughter Helen Strahan, sister Mrs Ethel Hayden, brother Mint Cutter, and five granddaughters. He belonged to First Baptist Church of Hammond and Livingston Lodge No. 160 F and AM.

Ponchy Man Dies Suddenly on Ponchatoula Road
Winfred Elmo Vining of Ponchatoula died suddenly Friday from a heart attack while working on a bridge on a rural road. He worked for Lawrence Byers. Funeral services were held at Thomas Funeral Home with burial in Collins Cemetery. Survived by mother Ella Edwards Vining, three sisters Gertie Sticker Inez Pertilloux and Annie Fortenberry, and brothers Robert Vining and O M Vining Jr.
