Miss Annie McRae of Hamiota visits Mr. John Sunley and Mr. John Fleming Jr. was ordained an elder at the Presbyterian church Sunday. Mr. Allenby returns from Brandon hospital in poor health. A freight train brings material and workers for a loading platform at Arrow River. Miss Brown from Guelph Ont arrives to visit Miss May Mitchell.
Town notes report A. Ross & Co planning an addition to their store with a hardware stock. The Presbyterian pulpit hosted Rev. Alexander from Palmerston Sunday evening. Sunday school delegates A D Clyde Mrs S D Taylor and Miss Frazer attended the Hamiota convention. Town council grades Miniota streets and a mile north road with a road grader. Streets when graveled praised as among province’s best. Beulah picnic drew many town residents.
Miniota football club played two matches Tuesday. They defeated the Indians 1-0 while tying Beulah juniors. Miniota baseball team lost again to Western boys 24 to 15 after earlier defeat at Beulah. The Miniota Sunday school picnic and lawn social Friday was a grand success aided by a very beautiful day.
Mr. Wm. Meakin is ill with a slight attack of blood poisoning. T. J. Wallace and Geo. Runchey visited Yorkton last week. Jas. Reid of Shoal Lake spent Sunday with friends. F. Norton still farming wheat with several trips ahead. Runchey and Gunning building a granary for E. W. Alexander. Baseball game planned at Blairs on Wednesday. Boating and bathing at Milne's lake attract both sexes. T. J. Wallace bought a twenty horsepower engine for his Battle Creek separator and expects a good fall. Bailey left for Portage la Prairie for a rest, hoping to resume duties soon. Fishing parties are common as weddings in our area.
Roy Wallace delivered a paper at the C E society meeting last week noting attendance would improve if hearts were open to truth rather than baseball. The C E concert of July 5 featured local talent with Miss C Wallace Miss H Tench and Mr G Tench. Rev. McLeod chaired. the dialogue drew amusement and praise. Delegates Stone and Lief reported from the Sunday School convention at Hamiota and urged attendance for greater benefit. The local school is praised as nearly a model and the superintendent is congratulated.

Officiant Rev J J Pryde. Guests toast, gifts praised, couple to Winnipeg and Milwaukee trip. Enders wanted for Ward 4 vacancy in Haaveta Municipality.
