A school house picnic held Tuesday proceeded smoothly with clear enjoyment. Events included men’s and boys’ races, tug of war, and a baseball game among others, with several races producing notable results.
Athletic meet events and team tug of war results
In a local athletics program Abra ham Tench won the 100 yard race with Scott Cameron second. G Tench led in running and standing hops and jumps with Walter Lief as runner up in standing events. J A Bedford and Wm Lief shared high jumps, John Wallace and Bedford won standing high, while tug of war favored the Alexanderians in a spirited contest. Old Timers defeated Lavina 17 to 2 in baseball.
