Manitoba legislator urges binder twine factory at Stony Mountain

D A Stewart member for Lisgar in the House of Commons urged the government to open a binder twine factory at the Stony Mountain penitentiary. He claimed Kingston purchases lowered western prices by at least two cents and noted American land investments in Manitoba. He supported Intercolonial extension to the Sault with a double track to make the LC R a true national road.

Sunday school opens again next Sunday after winter closure

Mrs Wiggins visiting daughter Mrs McGavin of Liamiota returns home on Tuesday by train. Mr and Mrs McGavin of Hamita drive up Saturday to visit Mrs McGavin's parents and return Sunday. Geo Armstrong of Ogilvie Milling Company staked ground for a new elevator last Saturday. Football boys organized again and practice each Saturday evening near the new town site. Mr T J Tennant of Toronto traveling for Empire Bicycle Company visited his brother Wmn A Tennant last week after twenty years.

The referendum here carried by about six to one in favor of sustaining and enforcing the law already passed. Residents ask, is prohibition better than ever as snow and spring threaten seeding and local roads. A new bridge near Mitchells Bridge is deemed unsafe with many approaches washed away.
