Winnipeg neglects baseball as city grows distant from the sport
In a fervent defense of baseball, a veteran Winnipeg writer laments the city’s shrinking baseball scene. He recalls Triple A days, notes Transcona and Elmwood pride, laments lack of playing fields, and condemns city priorities that favor hockey arenas and the Blue Bombers over grass and lights. He warns Winnipeg is increasingly left out of national baseball pursuits.
