Atlantic swell frames a Halifax produced program Harmony Harbour on CBC Trans-Canada as it begins its eighth season. Sea tales of Canadian maritime history and sea shanties ranging from lively pirate songs to vesper hymns are presented by the Arcadian Male Quartet.
Mrs E Furtney of Roblin is spending a few days with her sister Miss J Hanna. Mr and Mrs Knapton Pain left Monday to make their new home at Armley Sask. Sympathy to the Curll family in their bereavement. Mr and Mrs Allan McPhaden returned from Winnipeg. Congratulations to Mrs W J Cochrane on her birthday. Miss Jane Hudson left for Toronto for physio therapy studies. Jerry Smith left for Brandon College for second year science. Olsen Program on air again at 1.00 Sunday afternoons. Thank you one and all Ivy Hawkins. DIED At Hamiota Man on Monday September 20 1954 William Owen Curll aged 78 years and 10 days. Funeral service held at Christ Church on Thursday September 23 and interment at Hamiota Cemetery.

John Mitchell of Vancouver British Columbia was killed when his F 86 Sabre Jet crashed into the sea near Moncton New Brunswick on Tuesday September 14. Johnny Mitchell was once a student in Hamiota Manitoba in 1983 when his parents left for Vancouver BC.
