Hall of Fame beckons Lyndon Johnston from Hamiota
Lyndon Johnston, a world class figure skater from Hamiota, is named among the 1993 Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame inductees. He will be honored at the 14th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Saturday November 6 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Johnston, who began skating ages ago, competed in Junior and Senior Pairs, appeared at World Championships, and earned a sixth place finish with Denise Benning at the 1988 Winter Olympics. He retired in 1990 and later taught in Preston and Tampa, while his parents Carlyle and Catherine Johnston prepare to attend the event.
