Grade XI students Margaret Skinner Joan Peacock and Larry Smith study in Hamiota. W A and W M S meet at Mrs Smiths home on Wednesday September 14 at 2 p.m.

Hospital Ladies Aid Meeting Plans Charity Drive

The Ham Iota District Hospital No 7A Ladies Aid held its regular meeting August 26 with 13 districts represented. Each district was asked to canvas for donations of fruit vegetables jams jellies and pickles. Mrs W W Kirk and Mrs Smuttell were chosen as delegates to the Manitoba Hospital Convention in Winnipeg on October 19 and 20.

Cruise for CWN A delegates in Vancouver voyage

An evening cruise on September 13 for CWNA delegates and wives will sail from Vancouver Harbour aboard the coastal steamer Princess Patricia as part of the 36th Annual Convention. The ship normally runs the triangle route linking Vancouver Victoria and Seattle.

All Stars Reach Provincial Finals in Hot Series

Hamiota All Stars juvenile baseball team reached the provincial finals by defeating Souris 11 to 5 in the second game of the best of three series. Hamiota won the series.

Souris tops All Stars 5-4 after late surge to take opener

In Souris, Cece Dawley pitched for the home team while Glennis Scott started for the All Stars. Hamiota briefly led 4-3 before Jerry Smith homered to put Souris ahead 5-4. McKenzie relieved Dawley as the All Stars rallied for six more runs. Glenn Woods led Hamiota with a double and a single.
