High School Highlights from the 1989 90 Year

A busy two weeks at Hamiota Collegiate feature open houses from Brandon University and the University of Manitoba. Volleyball mini tournaments, Cross Country, canteen plans, yearbook funding moves, and a QSP magazine drive with a goal of 12 500 highlight student activity and fundraising.

Hamiota Legion Auxiliary Holds October Meeting

The Hamiota Legion Auxiliary met October 24 1989 with 22 members. Minutes were read and adopted. Secretary Lola Davis handled correspondence inviting members to Remembrance Service in Decker November 11 and a Curling event November 20. Treasurer Maud Bryant reported and was approved. Sick report noted Eva Lee's hospital discharge. New business covered church parade November 10, service at the school November 10 1989, Birch Lodge birthday party November 14, Men’s Mixed Bonspiel November 18, Christmas party December 3, and fruit cake ticket sales. A birthday box visit occurred and lunch followed.
