Hospital Board Sets Ambulance Service Rules at Hamiota
At the October 21 Hospital Governing Board meeting in Hamiota policies for ambulance operation were established. A new garage north of the hospital will house the vehicle and service is expected to start around November 1. Rates: within village ten dollars, district ten dollars plus thirty five cents per loaded mile. Winnipeg round trip thirty five dollars. other calls twenty dollars plus thirty five cents per loaded mile. Rural municipalities in the district are Blanshard Hamiota Miniota and Woodworth. Hamiota Curling Club Holds Semi Annual Meeting
At the October 25 meeting in the renovated rink the Hamiota Men s Curling Club set hourly rentals for hockey figure skating and general skating to raise 1500. Costs for renovations totaled 2523 with a 5308 artificial ice fund balance. Two members Wilkie Cochran and Pat Pateman were honoured on the loss. Bonspiel week moved by Virden request for February 9 13 with McDonald Brier host next year.

Manitobans gain an extra hour of sleep as clocks move back to Standard Time on Saturday night. The change occurs at 2:00 am Sunday when clocks are set back to 1:00 am.

The Hamiota Art Class focused on still life using charcoal with a shading demonstration by Mrs. Lawson between two sketching sessions. Next week she will demo water colors and members should bring paint boxes and a plastic sheet for the floor.
