Health Centre Auxiliary Meeting at Hamiota
The Women's Auxiliary to the Hamiota Health Centre met in the Board Room on September 28 with Mrs. Cyril Norrie presiding. Fourteen districts were represented and reports covered meals on wheels, education fund grants, and recipe submissions for a cookbook. The treasurer listed a bank balance of 1717.28 and activity figures across admissions, occupancy, operations, labs, and home care. A memoriam gift of an alternating pressure mattress was donated by the Little family for long term patients.

Influenza vaccine now available for high risk groups
Manitoba health officials announce 1979 80 flu vaccine distribution to health units hospitals and doctors for high risk individuals including seniors over 65 and patients with heart lung diabetes kidney disease or cancer. About 30 000 doses for adults and 1 500 for under 25 with two doses for the latter unless vaccinated in 1978. The vaccine covers Texas Hong Kong and Brazil strains and is free for eligible groups. The minister expects a mild winter but cautions uptake varies with prior exposure.

WINNIPEG The motor vehicle branch of the Manitoba Department of Highways reminds motorists that studded tires may be used on motor vehicles in the province. Tires with studs may be placed on vehicles on October 1 and must be removed by April 30 of the following year.
