School safety patrol created at Hamiota crosswalk
The Hamiota RCMP with Hamiota Elementary School and Hamiota Lions Club established a School Safety Patrol at Highway 21 and Birch Ave. After parental concerns from west of Highway 21, officials coordinated with the Department of Highways and Manitoba Association of School Trustees. Lions Club donated $100 for a wind‑up gathering. Patrol runs 8:30–8:55 a.m. and 3:25–3:35 p.m. on school days, staffed by grade 6 volunteers.
