Hamiota School Opens Doors For Annual Open House
Hamiota School invites parents of Kindergarten to Grade 12 to an Open House on Monday October 17 at 7 00 pm in the Elementary Gym. Principal Al Robertson will introduce staff and discuss the provinces proposed education directions Renewing Education New Directions Blueprint for Action. Superintendent Ron Vandenbussche will outline the plans and changes. After the presentation parents attend class meetings to meet teachers and view upcoming work.

New vet joins local practise in Hamiota
Dr. Gordon Clark joins P.S.F. Veterinary Clinic staff in Hamiota after graduating in May from Western College of Veterinary Medicine Saskatoon. A Brandon native and former farmer, he and his wife Pamela and daughter Macailyn settle into the former Polly Matchchuk home and plan to resume old ties with the Brandon area.

Hail Storm Payout to Man. Farmers Hits 3 Million
The August hail storm across Southwest Manitoba led to an estimated 3 million payout from the Manitoba Crop Insurance Corporation MCIC. Agriculture Minister Harry J Enns says over 1 000 claims were filed under the additional hail program with most adjusted and paid. 60 adjusters were deployed from Swan River and Beausejour to speed settlements.
