September meeting opened by President Betty Hames with a poem Volunteers. Six districts represented. Minutes by Mrs. Griffiths approved. Treasurer notes balance 1951.89. Loans approved for student nurse and Christmas meal services. Donations include 15 clocks, ward beds, a commode chair. Blood drive yielded 170 pints. Dr Hudson and Dr Lall mentioned. Mobile Meals 290 delivered. 488 hours home care. Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic reported.

Rollingdale Workshop Opens In Cardale Community

CARDALE The Rolling dale Workshop of the Canadian Association for the Mentally Retarded held an official opening on October 3 in Cardale. Local officials attended including Mabel Westwood director, Reeve F McPhaden, Harold McLaren mayor of Hamiota who presented a $500 cheque, and other regional leaders. The school, open about a year and a half after two years of planning, began with one instructor and six students and now lists four instructors and 23 students. Community fundraisers raised 846 from garden products, baked goods, lunches and workshop crafts, with a 10 speed Sekine bike awarded to a Rivers winner.

4-H Club Meeting Elects Officers at Oak Rover Institute

The 4 H Club held its season meeting on October 8 1975 at Oak Rover Jr Collegiate Institute. Members attended and elected officers: President Jocelyn Hayhurst, Vice President Jeff Hrabek, Secretary Aileen Sclater, Treasurer Tannis Hamilton, Reporter Doug Allen.

Beulah W I Holds Meeting At Muriel Paynter Home

The Beulah W I met October 6 with six members and one guest. They opened with the Creed and read The Country Church. Minutes and treasurer reports were presented, CNIB support decided, and donations invited by November 15. A Winnipeg W I House project ticket sale was discussed. A fitness program and exercises were reviewed. A shower for Diane Tomiski planned for October 25 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel basement.
