Manitoba Farm Credit Agency Reports Surge in Direct Loans
Manitoba Agriculture Minister Jim Downey announced a sharp rise in direct loans from the Manitoba Agricultural Credit Corporation for the four months ending July 31 1981. Direct loans grew 65 percent from 182 to 301 and their value rose from 10.96 million to 18.33 million dollars. Total program activity climbed to 406 loans valued at 22.36 million, with land purchases and improvements driving much of the increase.
