McConnell town origins linked to A D McConnell homestead
About twenty six years ago farmers in McConnell could ship locally by rail. The community grew from the homestead of A D McConnell, after whom the place is named. McConnell lies 58 miles west of Neepawa and features stores, a blacksmith, two elevators, a Consolidated School with three teachers and about fifty five students.
